Job Title: Assistant Manager
Reports To: Y’s Buys Store Manager
Hourly Wage: $17.28
Hours/Job Classification: 20 Hours/Week, Part-time, Weekend Shifts
Summary
The Y’s Buys Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of the Y’s Buy’s Thrift Boutique. This position will work independently, opening and closing the store when the manager is off. This person will assist customers in a way that builds store loyalty and will support volunteers. This position also uses a cash register, processes sales, and keeps the store clean and organized. This position works under the direction of the store manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
Carry out directives given by the store manager.
Provide leadership and direction to all volunteers and ensure a clear focus on the store’s mission.
Provide exemplary customer service and resolve customer issues to their overall satisfaction.
Maintain merchandise in a neat, organized fashion using an inviting visual plan.
Keep the store clean, organized, and safe.
Accept donations and administer receipts.
Fill in for store manager per manager requested days off or illness.
Must be a self-motivated individual with a high degree of enthusiasm for the job
Must be an honest individual with integrity
Ability to effectively handle merchandise activities
Ability to cope under pressure posed by customers
Ability to handle inventory control procedures and product stocking
Good communication and interpersonal skills to relate with customers, fellow workers, volunteers, and management effectively.
Miscellaneous
· Represent the YWCA at all times.
· Perform other duties as assigned. This position will regularly be called on to assist with various tasks.
Qualifications
· Associates degree or equivalent or three years of successful work history;
· Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to change;
· Must be a hard worker with a positive attitude;
· Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups;
· Must have or be willing to obtain adult CPR and First Aid certification within two months of hire.
· Must have a Criminal Background Check clear of violent crimes, theft, or crimes against individuals.
· Must be able to climb four flights of stairs; lift and carry office supplies, resident belongings, and donations typically weighing up to 25 pounds;
