Imua! BBOP is a federally recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit

Our programs blend Polynesian cultural traditions, environmental awareness, and water safety—while learning to paddle a six-person outrigger canoe. Youth Interns work closely with Program Staff to support keiki (ages 8–14) activities and paddling sessions. But this is far more than just volunteering! You’ll receive mentorship from experienced paddlers and coaches, develop teamwork and communication skills, and build confidence on the water. No prior paddling experience is required—just a willingness to learn, lead, and have fun! This is your chance to become a role model, grow as a leader, and be a part of an exciting and supportive paddling community.
