Cordata Presbyterian Church has a heart for being rooted in God’s Word, growing in Christ, and branching out to the World. This translates to having intentional learning times together to invest in God’s word; being active in our congregation, and most importantly in our community, to continuously live as Christ modeled; and spreading the Good News of Christ to the people within and outside of Cordata.

The Worship Director manages all aspects of worship music ministry—i.e. recruiting, planning, communication, and rehearsals—for our Worship Team (providing a mix of traditional hymns and praise songs); the Worship Director also coordinates choral music with our Choir Director. The Worship Director can also serve in other (non-music) ministry capacities, as those needs are identified and time allows.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular weekly rehearsals for Worship Team; lead Sunday morning music, and special services, such as Holy Week services, Easter, and Christmas Eve.
- Maintain familiarity with a variety of music styles that enhance worship and support the preaching message and theme.

- Ability to lead from an instrument and vocally, and comfortable in both traditional and modern/contemporary styles. Piano-led or guitar-led worship skills are required.
- A working knowledge of the biblical foundations of Christian worship.
Strong musicianship, in training and experience; a positive attitude towards collaboration and creativity. - A heart and vision for worship that allows for a synthesis of a range of artistic styles, as reflected in our current Praise Team and Choir format.
- Strong people skills, in order to collaborate with the Pastor and program staff, lay leaders, and musicians of all ages and abilities. Ability to lead staff or volunteers.
- Knowledge and ability to sing and teach parts effectively.
- Relevant higher education desired, but not required.
