Job Opening: Children’s and Youth Summer Intern

Cordata Presbyterian Church has a heart for being rooted in God’s Word, growing in Christ, and branching out to the World. This translates to having intentional learning times together to invest in God’s word; being active in our congregation, and most importantly in our community, to continuously live as Christ modeled; and spreading the Good News of Christ to the people within and outside of Cordata.

Position Description: 

Cordata Presbyterian Church is seeking a summer college level intern to assist primarily with our children’s, youth, and family ministry summer programs. The position provides an opportunity to explore Christian ministry in the church setting, engage in ministry planning, and to be mentored in leadership. You’ll have the chance to build authentic relationships, create unforgettable experiences, and point students to Jesus through everyday conversations and engaging activities.

 

Primary Duties: 

●        Assist in all aspects of CPC summer outreach programs

Weekly: Fun in the Sun program, Sunday morning service

Monthly: Youth Group

Special events: Neighborhood Block Party, Cordata Ice Cream Social and Family Fun Night

●        Assist the C.M. Director with lesson preparation, leading small groups of children during class, and help with class engagement/management. Prepared to lead Sunday morning lesson in the event of C.M. Director absence

●        Possible additional opportunities, depending on the intern’s interests and abilities

 

Qualifications:

●        Possess a love for Christ and a passion for working with kids and teens

●        Be at least 18 years old

●        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

●        Takes initiative, projects professionally with integrity and positivity

●        Enjoy being and working outside

●        Current first aid and CPR certification (preferred)

●        Washington State Patrol clearance (required)

●        Enthusiasm for the mission of Cordata Pres. Church and the families/community we serve

 

Start Date:  June 15th, 2025 – September 11th, 2025
Hours: 8-20 hours per week.

Must be available every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, most Sunday Mornings, and our scheduled special events.

Pay: $18.66 per hour
