Job Description: Accompanist (Piano)

Cordata Presbyterian Church is a Christian organization that has a heart for being rooted in God’s Word, growing in Christ, and branching out to the World. This translates to having intentional learning times together to invest in God’s word; being active in our congregation, and most importantly in our community, to continuously live as Christ modeled; and spreading the Good News of Christ to the people within and outside of Cordata.

Position: Accompanist (Piano)

Description:

The Accompanist will provide primary support for our congregation’s choral ministry at the direction of the Choir Director. The Accompanist will be available from mid-September through mid-June for choir rehearsals (Wednesday evenings), choir performances (Sunday mornings), and a few special services. The Accompanist may also occasionally play with our Praise Team, in coordination with the Praise Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

• Be in Scripture and prayer to live out the values of Cordata Presbyterian Church
• Accompany regular weekly rehearsals, Sunday morning choral pieces, and special services, such as Holy Week services, Easter, and Christmas Eve
• Be available throughout the choral season (mid-September through mid-June)

Qualifications:

• Ability to play piano proficiently in a performance setting
• Ability to work well with Choir Director in a rehearsal setting
• Experience in church choral ministry desired, but not required
• Consistency in communicating and managing personal schedule to be regularlyavailable for rehearsals and performances

Start Date: Immediately

• Hours: Approx. 5 hours per week (regularly on Wednesday evening & Sunday morning; also occasional special services such as Christmas Eve and Holy Week/Easter)
• Pay: Negotiable, DOE
